|Full text:||More Than Just Classwork: Clubs and activities were an integral part of student life at Booker T. Washington. The school believed in a philosophy of 'educating the whole child.' To promote personal as well as intellectual growth, the school incorporated club hour into the curriculum. Students had a variety of options: academic clubs and honor societies, clubs devoted to personal and community improvement, recreational clubs, and clubs devoted to professional interests.|
