|Full text:||Building Futures: Education was a cornerstone of life in Ward One. The people who grew up here were students of life, as well as students in the traditional sense; and the curriculum at Booker T. Washington High School understood this. In addition to standard subjects like science, history, and foreign language, a variety of vocational and trade programs were available to students. These reflected gender dynamics within the Ward One community as much as they educated students.|
