|Description:||Vocational text 7|
|Full text:||As is the case today, gender was complex in the Ward One community and in high school. While gender roles were more strictly defined in accordance with the time period, they were not perfectly rigid. The courses at Booker T. Washington reflected both sides of this issue. As a result, students learned how to behave as part of a local and global community befitting the times and were also encouraged to grow beyond them and shape the future.|
